Hey

How are you, blog followers? I've been fine. Just moved to Colorado (Colorado Springs, by Fort Carson where my boyfriend is stationed) mid December and spent the holidays in California. I kind of accumulated a gross pile of owed art, so I'm working on what I can. It's hard to when I'm having blocks of sorts and I'm trying to settle in (get a job, go to school, etc). But I'm working without a doubt.

Here are 2 WIPS



This is yet another WIP of Fox Hound's huge commission. I'm really overwhelmed by the amount of work I'm going to have to put into it. BUT, good art doesn't come out quickly, so I need to calm the fuck down. *whew* this is a learning experience after all.



This is a WIP of a commission for Maverick Swiftfoot, she had sent me some cash to help my boyfriend drive down to pick me up. This was supposed to be a chibi sketch commish but I upgraded it for her waiting so long for something so silly. This is only 1 of two images, both 2 character. But I suppose taking my time is fine, since I'm trying to get whatever I can done in bursts.

Mordekai Inks

So after playing revision tag and getting a friend to help me with the wings and face, I finally got this thing ready for completion

I'm taking my time inking for some odd reason. Tryig to emulate my real media inking style



As you can see above. Nothing but 03 and 05 microns baby. I really need to practice more.

I also need to work harder and more. I gotta move back to my parents in 3 weeks an I don't want my amazingly patient commissioners to wait longer. :P

As far as commissioned work goes, I've caught up and am waiting on payments, approvals and other things. I really need to start up my own website, so maybe for the next couple days I'll be sketching ideas on my notepad. Maybe I'll scan them

Not much on this front besides commission. Here's a trade I owe Denso. I was supposed to get it done before FWA, but eh, Deadlines, deadlines deadlines.

I'm fairly pleased with it so far. I can't wait to gore it the fuck up!

WIP of a reference sheet for my boyfriend. I'm really impressed with my work here. The background is actually 3 textures I mixed in one.

Vent art I did. The lyrics in the background are to Hanni Kohl's EX, a song that reminded me of my ex boyfriend and the fucked up emotions I felt when we broke up. I'm over it now, I think. I've learned to let go, and on occasions, we even have friendly conversations. It's still left a big scar on me, emotionally. Affecting the way I love. .___. but yeah, being broken up with after a 2 year reltionship among other things aren't necessarily things that don't heal overnight, or 3 months in my case. Either way, I liked how this came out. Ballpoint pen, and paint tool sai, and photoshop for the increase in brightness/saturation and the text.

Just an idea

After the last image I've decided to possibly have the female grinder have brown hair and the male grinder have yellow/green hair.

Here's a new sketch of a potential new Grinder ref.

Yes it's huge.

I just made the switch from 1024*768 to 1280*960. It's different....

What the balls? GRINDER WITH BROWN HAIR? Initially I was just using brown so I could build upmy midtones and hilights from it, but I liked the brown more.


Fleshing it out. All that's left is to decide the design on the hoodie, finishthe tail and shade Hy-Eight in.



Everything's done. But it doesn't feel right. Maybe I should add a design to the shirt!




I had though of erasing my sketch, but I didn't like it too much. SO I just erased excess sketch. My design inspirations came from Crystal City Clothing

Here's the finished image!



Added a background (which was just a purple fill, a texture set to color burn over it and another layer of purple fill set to color, so it's all monochrome) and added some cheesy Say Anything lyrics!

I dunno when I'll finish that art of me and my BF >___< I have a wait list for my commissions. I need to plow thru that.

Sorry for lack of updates, I was in Georgia for Furry Weekend Atlanta this past weekend. I had a blast :)

Anyway, here's a long awaited reference sheet for my friend Jordan.

I'm really happy with the results...except....




And it's not like I can improvise... it's not my character.

For now I'll just add a neato background and call it a day and wait for Jordan to get back to me on that
